Letters and postcards from Arline Furstman to an acquaintance in Jamaica, Long Island, chiefly document Furstman's service with the WAVES in 1944 and 1945. Letters detail her duties in the military; off-duty activities; reactions to VJ Day in August 1945; entertainment; and the 1945 plane crash into the Empire State Building.

Esther Gilbert of Norwich, Connecticut, served as a staff assistant with the American Red Cross in the Pacific Theater of World War II from July 1944 to March 1946.

This extensive scrapbook depicts Gilbert's service in the Pacific Theater of World War II through photos with detailed captions as well as maps, tourism guides, news clippings, and other mementos from the various places in which Gilbert served, including Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan.

Adele A. Graham (b. 1937), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served in the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve and United States Marines Corps Reserve from 1959-1990.

Barbara Gunschel served in the US Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) from 1943 until 1944. During this time she was stationed in Washington DC.

Annie R. Gwynn (1901-1993) served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps during World War II and the Korean War. Included in the collection are army manuals, textiles, and immunization records.

The Laura Henry Scrapbook has one scrapbook and three separate pages of Mount Holyoke Songs. The scrapbook has a wooden cover with images of a United States navy ship on it. It has approximately 58 pages and contains newspaper clippings, cards, menus from military base holiday lunches, and Laura Henry's official military identification cards.

This collection contains eight letters written by Hill and one by her huysband Sgt. Willis Hill to their daughters Ella and Josephine. The letters contain information about the life of a Civil War nurse, the feelings of loneliness and sorry at being seperated from her family, and the soliders and staff she knew at the hospital.

Mabel R. Holmes served in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War I. Holmes was given the assignment as Chief Army Nurse on September 19, 1918. On July 7, 1919, she worked at the Base Hospital at Camp Lee in Virginia.

The collection consists of 123 letters written by Jackson to her fiance, Henry Heusinkveld, from February through August 1945, while Jackson was stationed in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and later, Louisville, Kentucky. While the letters contain some information on Jackson's day-to-day life as a WAC, they focus primarily on the couple's personal relationship.

Wilma Leona Jackson served in the Navy Nurse Corps from 1936-1958. She served as the third director of the Navy Nurse Corps from 1954-1958. The collection consists of navy uniforms and uniform accessories.

Leona "Evelyn" Jensen joined the United States Navy WAVES in the summer of 1944. She worked in a United States naval hospital located in Seattle, Washington during World War II. Her scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, U.S. naval hospital newspapers called The Stethoscope, letters, postcards, patient tags, and drawings.

August 2023 oral history interview and transcript

The Cindy Kempkes Papers date from 1979-2013 with the bulk from 1979. The majority of the items are photographs and U.S. military manuals. There is also an Amendment to the H.R. 1960 involving the exposure of the residents of Fort McClellan to toxic chemicals.

Jane Fraley Kodack (1947-2013), of Thomasville, North Carolina, served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1981 to 1993. Kodack received the Army Commendation medal for rendering extraordinary medical assistance during a 1989 artillery training accident at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Ruth Cambric Kropp enlisted in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service - Navy) in October 1942 and worked in communications and decoding at various installations until her discharge in November 1944.

This collection consists of five WAVES artifacts used by Ruth Kropp during her World War II service.

Barbara A. Wolfe Kucharczyk of Florida served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 to 1998.

The Kucharczyk Papers primarily date 1977 to 1998 and cincludes March 2003 and April 2019 oral history transcripts, photographs and photograph albums, military papers and records, clippings, programs, writings, yearbooks, awards, artifacts, uniform and uniform accessories, insignia, ribbons, badges, and medals, which document her career in the U.S. Air Force.

Adeline Sears LaPlante (1919-2006) of Easton, Pennsylvania, served as a recruiter and as a public relations officer in the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1942-1945.

This collection includes letters, postcards and Christmas cards from LaPlante to her parents about her career in the WAAC and the WAC from 1943-1944. The collection also contains a photograph album, and news clippings from LaPlante's time in the service.

This collection consists of twenty-two personal letters written by Lentz to her family that describe her life as a nurse, which included receiving vaccinations and watching as German prisoners of war arrived at her base. The letters also discuss news regarding her friends and her patients.

Two 1917 letters describe Lincoln's desire to return home in the fall of 1917 to join the U.S. Army and her fears that she will not return in time to secure a favorable post.

Mary Haynsworth Mathews was born in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1916. She served with the American Red Cross in England, France, and Germany from 1942 to 1946. Included in this collection are an oral history and photographs.
